Fairmat signs long-term contract with Dassault Aviation
Fairmat, the French deeptech company founded in 2020 by Benjamin Saada, which is revolutionizing the recycling of carbon fiber composites, has announced today the signing of a new long-term contract with Dassault Aviation for the collection and recycling of carbon fiber composite production offcuts. This new long-term contract strengthens Fairmat’s position as a leader in composites recycling, and testifies to Dassault Aviation’s renewed confidence in the start-up. Fairmat has grown rapidly since its creation, and continues to attract the attention of key players in the composite materials, aeronautics and wind energy industries. Dassault Systèmes Partners with Sanofi to Optimize Tech Transfer and Industrialization at Its Future EVolutive Facilities
Dassault Systèmes and Sanofi today announced their partnership to optimize “EVolutive Facility” production at Sanofi’s future state-of-the-art modular manufacturing facilities in France and Singapore. The partnership, which expands their long-standing collaboration in life sciences and healthcare, will leverage virtual twin experiences to enable agile and flexible operations that advance Sanofi’s ambition to secure its product portfolio.
Sanofi will use Dassault Systèmes’ “Made to Cure for BioPharma” industry solution experience based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to design, implement, qualify and operate modular production lines at the two “EVolutive Facilities.” These will rely on single-use technology and mobile equipment to manufacture up to four products simultaneously and sustainably by selecting the most advanced technologies to reduce their energy consumption. The platform provides a virtual environment for collaborative innovation and end-to-end data management across the life cycle. Sanofi can experience the manufacturing systems under development and their operation virtually and optimize scale up and industrialization processes before deploying them.
Improving the design process with simulation
The cheapest way to develop a new product is for the process to be as linear as possible between concept and manufacture. Each time designers make decisions on the project, there’s a chance that the path they take may lead them off on a tangent. Integrating simulation tool sets into the process means that these decisions can be validated sooner rather than later.
Ultimately, most companies will still use a physical test model as their measure of success. Using simulation to mimic this is certainly possible, but not many will invest enough to make this realistic. However, employing simulation-driven design from the outset of the project means that errors are more likely to be caught earlier on. And that means the expensive stage of physical prototyping and testing is more likely to be successful.
